Effective Tuesday, June 1, 2021 - Water Shut-Off for Non-Payment Resumes

The City of Universal City was committed in aiding residents during the recent pandemic by forgoing water disconnections for over a year and providing financial aid to residents in the form of utility and rental assistance.

However, please be advised that effective June 1, 2021 the City will resume water disconnections for accounts not in good standing.  Additionally, Texas law provides that homes without water service are a health hazard and cannot be occupied.

If you are receiving this notice, City records indicate that a water account in your name is not in good standing. As the resident or homeowner there are two options to avoid having water disconnected for non-payment:

Option 1: Pay the account balance in full by 5:00 PM by Friday, May 28, 2021.

Option 2:  If the full account balance is a hardship, contact Utilities Dept. before Wednesday, May 26, 2021 to arrange a payment plan to spread the account balance over a period of time that is mutually agreed upon.

Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, May 29, 2021: Last day to set up a payment plan
  • Friday, May 28, 2021: Full payment due if payment plan is not signed by May 26, 2021
  • Tuesday, June 01, 2021: Shut-off for non-payment will resume and accounts will be subject to late fees and disconnection for non-payment as per the City’s Utility Policy.
